Thanks for the link to Joel's website. I left him a comment after reading his Fireproof review.
I agree so much with you and him. Many (most?) of the "Christian written" movies are just plain artificial to me. Sigh...I believe this is because they cater to institutional Churchianity.
There are so many wonderful "non-Christian written" movies out there with wonderful messages that truly excude God's heart of love. I've been discovering many every since I started a Netflix subscription recently.
