Have you ever heard someone say this : "Prayer is a wonderful tool". I saw that the other day on someone's facebook status. I cannot wrap my head around that thinking at all - though at one time I could have. I think I know why. I think that this thinking ie that "prayer is a wonderful tool" is part of the whole broader thinking, that of having all the correct formulas, of possessing information, of having disciplines, of having doctrines, VS POSSESSING AND BEING TOTALLY INDWELT BY CHRIST.
Therefore, to come to this place, we can be free because it's not so much about us possessing something as it's instead about being POSSESSED.
It's truly seeing Christ in everything and as everything, the fullness of Christ, that the Father was pleased to dwell in, all His fullness is in Christ.
This fullness as consuming us
This fullness as being so woven into our entire being,
Being called into this wonderful fellowship of fullness,
Being immersed in Him.
He is the fabric of our existence, of our consciousness, totally involved in our circumstances. In Him all the fullness dwells, and when we are joined to Him, we are in this state of fullness. Yes prayer helps us to put together our lives and to see things the way we need to see them.
Little by little, as the Word dwells in us through Christ, as we dwell in Him richly, we become taken up in Christ. It's not that we through the discipline of prayer have changed anything, but that Christ has come in His power to abide and live in us, and that through His Spirit working in us, living deeply in us, we are transformed into this deeper reality of Christ.

Ruth,
When I read that statement "Prayer is a wonderful tool," I sighed. To me, a tool is an object that allows one to solve some type of problem, or enables one to produce something. If prayer is considered a "tool" this implies it is a means to "get" something from God. God is not a vending machine of whom we throw "prayer requests" to in order to receive, receive, receive.
Prayer is one (of many) expressions of love and communication with Papa/Son. It has everything to do with relationship...and nothing to do with a selfish gaining of something.
Excellent post about possession. Indeed, because Papa possesses us, we are fully His. We are complete in Him. We know from Whom we belong to. From this understanding and belief, all things loving flows forth.
Blessings,
~Amy :)

Ruth,
For what its worth, I see the miracle of grace doing what it continues to do best, transform, the inner continued transformation of our soul, and as this continues, its as if we suddenly begin to see what we already have in Christ.
We will never experience Him to the degree that we will no longer have to walk by/in faith, isn't that Cool?!
Thanks Amy,
I agree, prayer or communion with the Lord is beautiful and it is certainly about love. Not selfish gaining or a list of prayer needs but love and devotion .
Thanks , Rich
He is getting us more and more to see Christ and Christ in us !
thanks both, for your visits & for your comments : )
